Hybrid drive for Russian locomotive
The project of the first locomotive in Russia with a hybrid power plant was created by the Center for Innovative Development of the STM with the support of the Skolkovo Foundation, commissioned by JSC Russian Railways. One of the main tasks set by RZD was to reduce the cost of the life cycle of equipment. This means - in improving the traction and power characteristics of locomotives, increasing durability, reliability, safety, and environmental friendliness. Technical solutions aimed at increasing energy efficiency and the use of energy-saving technologies were developed by specialists of the Chelyabinsk Scientific and Technical Center "Privodnaya Tekhnika".

RTOS QNX Neutrino in converter technology for railway transport
In 2010 the Chelyabinsk Scientific and Technical Center "Privodnaya Tekhnika" started the development of converter equipment for railway transport. For three years, the converter for powering traction induction motors, the inverters for the electric locomotives of direct current 2ES6 and EL21, the set of converters for the hybrid diesel locomotive TEM9N were developed and manufactured. In the course of the work, specialists of STC "Privodnaya Tekhnika" created unique hardware and software solutions based on the QNX Neutrino real-time operating system.
