Automated control system for the technological process of heating and smelting of METASAR steel
Purpose:
Developed by the specialists of STC "Privodnaya Tekhnika", the automated process control system "METASAR" is designed to control the melting process in steelmaking furnaces, namely:
- measuring the parameters of the process;
- equipment condition monitoring;
- management of technological mechanisms;
- high-voltage system;
- voltage stage switch;
- mechanisms for moving the furnace roof and tilting the furnace;
- transformer oil cooling system;
- heat control system of the furnace;
- electrode holders;
- pump-accumulator station;
- and etc.
Application area:
- Arc-type steel-smelting furnaces (EAF),
- Electroslag remelting furnace (ESR),
- vacuum arc furnaces (VDP),
- ore-thermal furnaces and other units in metallurgy.
ACS TP 'METASAR' are manufactured in accordance with TU 4252-004-51493276-2011, Certificate of Conformity GOST-R No. ROSS RU.AB67.H01651
"METASAR" is a two-level ACS TP with a decentralized structure and distributed control and management functions.
The first level of the system is implemented on a programmable controller, distributed peripherals, process sensors and actuators. The controller is connected to distributed peripheral stations via the PROFIBUS-DP network. In the distributed periphery station, all field level signals are reduced.
The second level of the system is the operator's automated workstation (AWP). SCADA-system collects, displays and logs information received from first-level systems, generates a smelting passport, exchanges information with top-level automated systems including data bases. Communication is carried out via the Industrial Ethernet network.
Functions of MANAGER:

- collection, processing and analysis of information on the state of the furnace;
- informing the management personnel about the position of the machinery and the occurrence of malfunctions;
- indication and recording of parameters of energy carriers and consumables;
- indication and recording of electrical parameters, etc.
- formation of control actions in order to maintain a given energy-technological regime;
- transfer of control actions to working bodies and mechanisms in accordance with their current position, imposed interlocks and algorithm of operation;
- formation and control of the implementation of control actions;
- exchange of information (documents, messages, etc.) with interconnected automated systems.
The software of the METASAR automated process control system is based on the following software: Step7, Microsoft Windows 7, SCADA system WinCC, WinCC Flexible, Microsoft SQLServer.

Technical characteristics of MANAGER:
- power supply 380 V AC at a deviation from -15 to + 10%;
- frequency 50 ± 1 Hz;
- atmospheric pressure from 86 to 106.7 kPa;
- influence of climatic factors in accordance with GOST 15150-69 - UHL4 (possibly UHL3);
- protection against contact with live parts and from the ingress of solids and liquids in accordance with GOST 14254-96 - IP54.
