Drilling Mud Pump Control System & VFD | Drive Technology
Drive for Drilling Pumps
The use of frequency-controlled electric drive of drilling pumps ensures:
- the possibility of regulating the supply of drilling mud by regulating the speed of rotation of the drilling pumps, thereby increasing the penetration rate;
- reduction of electricity consumption;
- reduction of maintenance costs for electric motors;
- necessary technological and electrical protection and interlocks.
Technical characteristics of the electric drive:
The electric drive of the mud pumps can be controlled by:
- from the pump control panel;
- from the driller's console using an automated microprocessor control system;
- in the manual from the door of the drive unit from the container KTU.
The automatic control system (ATS) of the electric drive of the pump provides:
- smooth regulation of engine speed in the range from 0 to 1000 rpm;
- limiting the pace of acceleration and deceleration of the electric drive of the pump;
- maintaining the specified speed of rotation of the drive motor;
- limiting the motor torque in the range from 40 to 110% of the nominal.
The pump control panel (PD) with the remote data input / output station is installed in the pump unit of the drilling rig.
